Google Apps is a solution that is mainly based on cloud computing (distributed computing), which offers applications as services. This means that users can access the Internet without any problems of infrastructure maintenance. This solution is attractive to many companies because it allows them to save some costs (from 40 Euro/user/year) and have a high availability of tools (99.9% announced). Furthermore, it allows employees access to applications regardless of their location. Large companies like Euromaster, Jaguar or Land Rover use are improtanat to emphasize.



At Android, Google Apps had arrived in November last year. With over 300,000 terminals activated each day, some are purchased by professionals and academics. These devices may either be connected to Google Apps for Education and Business. This solution is currently being enriched with new features described as below.

  • Google Apps Device Policy

The new version of Google Apps can now lock their Device Policy, ringing the phone or reset the PIN remotely. It works on devices running on Android 2.2 It is hoped that such functionality can be offered to the general public.

  • Data Encryption

Tablets with Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) can now encrypt data. Administrators can remotely activate this feature. This requires the new version of Google Apps Device Policy.

  • Google Apps Lookup

Lookup Google Apps is a new application that is an address book contacts involving their organization (company or university). You can now contact the person easily, send an e-mail, chat, send an SM. The main information comes from the directory of Google Apps. Therefore, it is the administrator to choose who has access to what functions. You need a terminal Android 2.1 +, to enjoy it.
