This 2.3.4 release is a maintenance release that adds several bug fixes and patches to the Android 2.3 platform, without any API changes from Android 2.3.3. Additionally, Android 2.3.4 brings support for the Open Accessory API to mobile devices.

This new version introduces an exciting new feature, and also addresses some bugs. If you haven’t received 2.3.3 yet, 2.3.4 will introduce you to several new features such as Google Maps 5.1 with 3D, Voice Search 2.1.1 with Voice Actions and personalized voice search, and the latest version of Google Books.


1.New feature: video chat in Google Talk

Previously only available to tablet users on Android 3.0, Google Talk with video and voice chat is now available on Android phones running 2.3.4 that have front-facing cameras, starting with Nexus S.
